The objective for st. elmo was to deliver an interior unlike anything seen previously in the area.
The new building, with a busy lane and a main street at its perimeter, seemed to demand a more urban fit, so that’s what we gave it.
Procuring fixtures from within Australia and around the world, we set about building an interior fit for seeing the test of time and changes in fashion.
Furnishings are a combination of classical and contemporary. The centrepiece – a solid cement bar, weighing just under four tonnes, has been finished with Italian mosaic tiles... a fixture that will remain in place for decades.
This is a place that will make you feel at home if you’re on holiday, and make you proud if you live in the area.

Quite apart from a great enviroment to drink and dine in, st. elmo is a great place to work. Our team have been drawn from the local area and from further afield, bring a level of enthusiasm and experience not often encountered away from the capital cities.

St. Elmo takes no bookings, so tables are available on a first come, first served basis.
Whilst the dining room fills quickly Thursday through Saturday, there is almost always a seat at the bar for a drink before a table becomes available. For your enjoyment and comfort, we do not recommend tables larger than six.
St. Elmo is a bar and dining room designed to be available to as many as possible as often as possible. Functions are not available nor is the opportunity to book the entire venue.

Tables are available on a first come, first seated basis. The dining room is generally full from 7:30pm, but tables can turn over quickly.
Most of our dining customers enjoy a round of drinks at the bar
or have a stroll to the beach while waiting for a table.
The average wait on a table can range from 15 to about 45 minutes depending on the number in the group
